Jerry C. Smith Chief Financial Officer |
Jerry C. Smith, Chief Financial Officer for Proxsys LLC, began his career with Price Waterhouse, initially in audit then as a tax consultant. His health care experience began as Controller then Chief Financial Officer with a skilled nursing facility chain of four facilities that grew to 25 facilities in two states.
During his tenure in skilled nursing, he developed several ancillary service companies including a medical supply company, an independent clinical reference lab, a physician management company, and a physical, speech and occupational therapy contracting service, and he served on the boards of each entity.
From 2000 to 2009, Smith served as Vice President, Revenue Cycle for the St. Vincent’s Health System in Birmingham, Alabama, managing Central Scheduling, Patient Access, Central Business Office, Health Information Management, Third Party Contracting and the Charge Master.
Smith completed a two-year fellowship with the Health Care Advisory Board, Washington, D.C., and, in January, 2005 was named a Fellow of the Advisory Board. He has served on various civic boards and the board of the Alabama Chapter of the Health Care Financial Management Association.
Smith is a graduate of Samford University School of Business in Birmingham, Alabama and is a Certified Public Accountant.
