Karen D. Chambers, RN, CCM, CDMS Chief Operating Officer |
Karen Chambers, Chief Operating Officer of Proxsys, has over 30 years of experience in the health care industry with responsibilities covering virtually every facet of health care and insurance management. She has an extensive background in medical management and software design.
A Registered Nurse, Certified Case Manager, and Certified Disability Management Specialist, Mrs. Chambers' career in medical management includes design, implementation and supervision of corporate, regional and local case management; disease management; utilization management and quality improvement. These programs have been implemented in hospital/provider , payor and employer based settings. She has extensive experience with licensure and accreditation as well as Medicare, Medicaid and HMO policy and reimbursement processes.
Mrs. Chambers is a past-president of the national Case Management Society of America (CMSA) and was Case Manager of the Year in 1995. From 1990-2000, she served as a member of the URAC Accreditation Committee. Also, she was a founding member of the Case Management Leadership Coalition and served as an expert panel member for the Council for Case Management Accountability. She has numerous published articles in leading healthcare trade publications.
