Coordinated Access Manager (CAM) is a web-based tool designed to be simple and user-friendly with specific views designed to provide access for each of our four user groups: Physician Office, Scheduling Staff, Facility Staff Proxsys Staff.
Starting right in the physician's office, staff input minimal patient demographic information regarding a prospective procedure.
ICD-9 and CPT codes are selected and a “medical necessity” check is performed by the system to
ensure national Medicare coverage guidelines and LCDs are met.
The physician’s office has the option to use the Proxsys system to electronically route requests to their facility scheduling departments.
This function decreases the number of phone calls and faxes between the physician office and scheduling.
The Proxsys staff use CAM to capture the data necessary to pre-register the patient, verify insurance coverage and benefits,
and obtain pre-certification if needed. Verified data is then transmitted to the facility system and back to the physician screen,
ensuring all users have the same information simultaneously. Medical information entered by the physician or staff cannot be edited
by anyone other than the physician or designated staff.
Selected data fields are transferred to a physician order form which upon approval, appends the physician’s electronic signature and routes automatically
to the facility. Facility staff have complete access to review and print a hard copy of the complete and legible orders for the patient’s physical chart.
CAM is HIPAA compliant and browser based so there is no installation of client tools needed for access.
